Former students pumping it up with MassChallenge

My former students (and UMass EI Alumni) Brian Mullen and Chris Leidel’s company, Therapeutic Systems, has been accepted to the MassChallenge incubator and is gaining some press attention.

Therapeutic Systems designs, develops, and produces person-centered medical devices for individuals with autism, ADHD, and anxiety based disorders. We are dedicated to improving quality of life and quality of care through sensory based solutions designed to facilitate participation and increase independence.

What that quote doesn’t say is that if your child has severe autism and is having a terrible episode where they are completely scared and running around… your only options are to tie them down or to dope them up. Therapeutic System’s vayu vest allows you to calm your child down simply by letting them wear a vest that gives a hug-like sensation.

What would you rather do to your kid? Tie down, dope up, or hug?

Good luck gents!
